About Nora

I'm a 24-year-old graduate of Grinnell College with a B.A. in English.  I have three nonfiction books published; you can read more about them on the My Books page.  I'm much more active on Twitter, because it discourages my inner editor.

Right now, I work as a legal assistant at a law firm in Portland.  If that doesn't sound awesome, it is.  I also serve on the board of Street Roots.  I'll be starting law school next fall.

I'm torn between two projects right now, both YA -
a magical realism novel set on a southern Oregon ranch, and a contemporary novel set in downtown Portland.  In theory, I'm also editing the novel that I originally drafted during NaNoWriMo 2010, The Brothers and Sisters of Interesting People.

I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, a.k.a. the best city in America, and have now moved back.  I love the Portland Timbers, food, politics, and travel; hobbies include taking apart old computers to build new, better ones, cooking without recipes, and drawing excessively complicated geometric doodles.  I love reference books, especially cookbooks and  foreign-language dictionaries (in addition to fiction, not instead of it), and really do enjoy copyediting.
